This is the story of two actresses, former “stars” of Soviet cinema, and one young woman who takes care of them in a shelter for lonely actors. All their lives, these actresses were fiercely at odds with each other, because they were rivals in love for a man who turned out not to be worthy of love and self-sacrifice. And only at the end of their lives, both of them realized that they could be… the best and most faithful friends.
The young protagonist of the novel is also experiencing a personal drama, but thanks to the wisdom of her wards, she realizes that life, no matter what it is, is beautiful, it should not be wasted on temporary fuss. A sentimental story with a deep subtext inherent in the work of Irene Rozdobudko.
