In 1998, he graduated from Ivan Franko State University of Lviv (qualification “Historian”, “History Teacher”) and M. Lysenko Higher State Music Institute, majoring in “Theatre and Cinema Actor”.
In 2010, he graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, majoring in Civil Service (master’s degree).
Received the academic title of Associate Professor.
Since 08.1998 – a drama actor of сategory II of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko. Since 10.1999 – drama actor of сategory I of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko. Since October 2000 – a Drama teacher at the children’s art school of Lyceum School No. 23 of Vasyl Stefanyk PNU.
Since September 2001 – a drama actor of сategory I of Kyiv theater group “Benefis”.
Since 04.2002 – a drama actor of сategory I of Kyiv Theater “Vilna Scena”.
Since 09.2003 – a drama actor of сategory I of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko, a part-time instructor of acting skills at the Art Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk PNU.
Since 07. 2006 – a drama actor of the highest category of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko. Since 04.2008 – the director of Ivano-Frankivsk Academic Oblast Music and Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko. In 2009 he was awarded the medal “For services to Prykarpattia”. Since October 2011 – an artistic director, since October 2019 – general and artistic director of Ivano-Frankivsk National Academic Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko.
2009 – medal “For services to Prykarpattia”.
2015 – laureate of the new theater award “Mirror of the Stage” and the national competition “CHARITY UKRAINE – 2015” for the art project “Oscar and the Pink Lady”, received the professional theater award “Kyiv Pectoral”.
2015 – Rostyslav Derzhypilskyi founded the International Open Festival of Performing Arts “Time of Theater” and became the general director of the International Festival of Contemporary Art “Porto Franko” (2017, 2018).
2016 – acting in the film “Zhyva” (director – Taras Khymych), 2018 – acting in the film “Dovbush” by Oles Sanin.
2018 – the prize of the NSTU named after Panas Saksaganskyi.
2019 – the neo-opera “HAMLET” staged by R. Derzhypilsky won the All-Ukrainian festival-award “GRA”.
2019 – Rostyslav Derzhypilsky became a laureate of the National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko in the nomination “Theatrical art” for the productions: burlesque extravaganza “Eneida” after Kotliarevskyi’s poem, neo-opera “Hamlet” after Shakespeare’s play translated by Yurii Andruhovych, parable “She – the Earth” after the works by Vasyl Stefanyk and theatrical charity art project “Oscar and the Pink Lady” after the novel by E.-E. Schmidt.
In 2019, he joined the new Committee for the National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko.
