This story happened 100 years ago. Or maybe yesterday?
Six young soldiers did not voluntarily find themselves in a dynamic and multi-layered “game” of life against death. They are 20-year-old boys, soldiers of the First World War, the “lost generation.” They were torn from their usual lives and thrown into the bloody mud of war…
Once they were boys learning to live and think. Now they had to get used to the trenches and death. But in spite of everything, they kept their humanity, ability to make friends and dreams of a normal peaceful life.
The drama “ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONTS” is a story about the desperate struggle of the light of dreams, desires and hopes with the all-pervading, unrelenting and inevitable darkness of non-existence. When every minute could be your last, you, like that sprout, relentlessly make your way through the blood-spattered ground, despite the endless blows of the soldier’s boots.
This is an ode to all soldiers and veterans who at different times and TODAY give themselves to the war for the right to love… to dream… to live!
